Description

The Punjab is a region of the north-west Indian subcontinent. On the partition of India and Pakistan (1947), the Punjab was divided on a religious basis. The Muslims from northern India gathered in Pakistan in the hope of creating another country, in order to the realize the “ideal’ put forward by the poet Mohammed Iqbal in 1930, when he formulated the idea of a separate and ‘pure State’ for all Muslims.
