Des instruments bibliques pour une musique de soleil… Les marocains et l’ensemble du monde musulman considèrent que la musique est d’essence divine. Le poète Echatabi raconte comment est liée à la création du premier homme : « Après avoir façonné Adam, Dieu voulut y faire pénétrer l’âme pour l’animer. Mais elle s’y refusa parce qu’elle était céleste et qu’il était fait de matière. Dieu commanda alors à un ange d’entrer dans le moule. Quand il y eut pénétré, l’ange se mit à chanter. L’âme fut séduite et entra à son tour dans le corps. Elle s’y fixa et l’ange quitta le corps ; sa voix s’étant tue, l’âme chercha à quitter le corps, mais Adam se mit à son tour à chanter et l’âme extasiée se fixa définitivement dans le corps. Depuis ce temps elle a conservé le souvenir des chères mélodies divines et elle est restée sensible à la musique ».
Biblical instruments play music of the sun… The moroccans and the rest of the Muslim world consider that music is of divine origin. The poet Echatabi relates how music is involved in the creation of the first man: Having shaped Adam, God wished to imbue him with a soul to bring him to life. But the soul, being celestial, refused to enter the body of Adam, which was material. So God commanded that an angel enter the form. Once inside the angel began to sing. The soul was beguiled and also entered the body. When it had settled there the angel left the body; as the voice was no longer to be heard, the soul tried to leave the body too, but adam now started to sing and the soul in ecstasy settled permanently in the body. Since that time, the soul has always remembered the sound of the cherished divine melodies and remained responsive to music ».
