Léopold Mozart doit une grande partie de sa notoriété au fait qu’il fut le père, père quelquefois étouffant il faut l’avouer, d’un génie. Il laisse cependant de nombreuses œuvres tout à fait dignes d’intérêt, dont l’illustrissime Symphonie des Jouets, longtemps attribuée à Josef Haydn, et extraite, ce que l’on sait moins (comme la non moins célèbre Promenade en traîneau) d’une vaste Cassation en sol mineur. / Leopold Mozart owes much of his fame to the fact that he was the father—and a somewhat stifling one, it must be admitted—of a genius. He nevertheless left a good many works that are most certainly worthy of interest, including the most illustrious Toy Symphony, which, for a long time, was attributed to Joseph Haydn. Few people realise that the latter (along with the equally famous Sleigh Ride] forms part of a vast Cassation in G minor.
