Les deux concertos pour violon de Chostakovitch sont dédiés au grand violoniste David Oïstrakh qui en fut aussi le créateur. Le premier fut écrit entre 1947 et 1948 mais sa première audition n’eut lieu qu’en 1955. / Chostakovitch’s two violin concertos are dedicated to the great violinist David Oïstrakh, who also gave the first performances. The Violin Concerto N°1 in A minor was written between 1947 and 1948 but it was not played publically until 1955.
