MusicoMan est un projet de créations musicales autour de l’alto, inspirées des collections du Musée d’Archéologie Nationale (MAN) en tant que lieu protecteur de l’histoire, écrin des origines, du patrimoine de l’humanité, à travers une mise en valeur par la musique d’objets emblématiques et symboliques de ses collections et de ses espaces.
En résidence artistique et scientifique depuis 2017 dans ce musée qui m’inspire tant, j’ai proposé à cinq artistes contemporains, Graciane Finzi, Philippe Hersant, Benoît Menut, Kryštof Mařatka et Philippe Schœller de porter un regard sur l’archéologie et de créer une oeuvre musicale, en écho à ces objets des premiers êtres de l’humanité, tissant ainsi un lien entre ce monde des hommes et femmes d’il y a 2.000 à 40 000 ans et nous.
MusicoMan is a project of new works written for the viola, taking inspiration from the collections of the Musée d’Archéologie Nationale (MAN), at Saint-Germain-en-Laye, a place where history is protected, as well as being a setting for exhibiting the origins and the heritage of humanity, enhanced by the music of emblematic and symbolic objects in its collections and exhibition spaces.
In residence artistic and scientific since 2017 in this museum that inspires me so much, I proposed to five contemporary composers, Graciane Finzi, Philippe Hersant, Benoît Menut, Kryštof Mařatka and Philippe Schœller, to take a look at archaeology and to produce a musical work in reaction to these objects that had belonged to the earliest humans, thus weaving a link between us and this world of men and women dating from 2,000 to 40,000 years ago
