Ses compositions étaient répandues dans toutes les églises principales de nos provinces. Après les guerres napoléoniennes sa musique disparut lentement des jubés, excepté à Gand où l’on continuait à chanter aux grandes fêtes liturgiques ses messes et psaumes. En 1914 la guerre entraîna la disparition de l’ensemble choral de la cathédrale, interrompant définitivement la longue tradition. Et ce fut l’oubli total. / His works were known and played in all the principal churches of the provinces, but they disappeared after the Napoleonic wars, except in Ghent where the compositions of the famous Maître de Chapelle continued to be played. In 1914, the war caused the cathedral choir to be disbanded, the long tradition came to an end and everything was forgotten.
