Après d’innombrables couplages discographiques des Quatuors à cordes de Debussy et de Ravel, il était tentant de réunir les Trios pour piano, violon, violoncelle des deux plus grands compositeurs français du début de ce siècle. Dans le premier cas, sont mises en présence deux œuvres marquantes du répertoire de chambre écrites par des musiciens dont la maîtrise du langage et de la pensée est équivalente.

After countless discographic couplings of string quartets by Debussy and Ravel, it was tempting to bring together the piano-violin-violoncello trios of the two greatest French composers of the be-ginning of this century. In the first case, are contrasted two outstanding works from the chamber repertory written by musicians whose mastery of language and of thought is the same.
